Compliance Division Last updated or reviewed on April 5, 2024 The Development Services Department (DSD)’s Compliance Division ensures compliance with Asheville’s land use codes and standards and administers complaints on municipal code violations. The Compliance Division assists with enforcement issues related to: Animal Services Junk and Nuisance Vehicles Minimum Housing, Unsafe Building Noise Disturbance Signs Homestay and Short term rental violations Zoning and Development SUBMIT A COMPLAINT Visit the Asheville App to submit a complaint to the Compliance Division. Staff will follow up with you during business hours (M-F 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; closed public holidays) should they need additional information. Staff may arrange to perform investigations outside normal business hours, however, they are not on-call. If your safety is in question, call 911.
