The Asheville Police Department has five dedicated officers assigned to support and connect with your neighborhood. These Community Resource Officers (CROs) serve as liaisons between APD and the public. They focus on crime prevention, public education, and neighborhood-specific concerns. Hogan has been serving with the Asheville Police Department since 2003. He has worked in the Patrol Division, Drug Suppression Unit, Buncombe County Anti-Crime Task Force, Criminal Investigation Division, and the Professional Standards Division. Hogan Sergeant Jesse Ramirez Sergeant Ramirez has been serving with the Asheville Police Department since 2013, and has worked in the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Housing Unit, Drug Suppression Unit, and is a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). Sgt. Ramirez has lived in Western North Carolina since 2005 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina and a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Ramirez Senior Police Officer Carrie Lee (Baker District/East) Senior Police Officer Carrie Lee has served with the Asheville Police Department since 2013, after interning with the department in 2012, to complete her Criminal Justice degree at Appalachian State University. She has served in the Patrol Division as a field training officer and patrol forensics technician, and is currently a member of the Peer Support team. He went through the police academy and became a sworn officer in 2018. He is on the Crisis Negotiation Team and the Peer Support Team, is a certified patrol forensic technician, and is a licensed drone pilot. SPO Pace moved to the Asheville area from Indiana and is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana and Indiana State University. Prior to transitioning to the Community Engagement Division, he served in the Patrol Division, where he was a field training officer and a patrol forensics technician. He is currently a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team and Peer Support. He previously worked at the Buncombe County Detention Facility before joining the department. Prior to joining the Community Engagement Division, he served in the Patrol Division as a Field Training Officer and Patrol Forensics Technician.
