Strive Not to Drive and ride ART for free on May 18

Western North Carolina kicks off its annual Strive Not to Drive week celebrating sustainable transportation on Friday, May 15, and you can join the effort with free rides on Asheville Rides Transit (ART) buses all day on Monday, May 18. 

New Website Helps Passengers Ride the ART

Asheville Rides Transit (ART) bus passengers can now visit ridetheart.com to plan their trips with up to the minute, easily accessible information. The new site, built and maintained by the City of Asheville using publicly available transit data, is designed to work on both desktop and mobile devices.

Be aware of parking meter payment scams

The City does not use QR codes on parking meters, and parking customers should not scan any codes to pay for parking. 

City of Asheville Moves Forward with Sidewalk Restoration on North Lexington Avenue; Public Information Session Scheduled for February 26

The City of Asheville is moving forward with a sidewalk restoration project on North Lexington Avenue aimed at improving pedestrian safety and accessibility. The public is invited to attend an upcoming informational engagement session on Thursday, February 26. This session will offer a direct opportunity to view initial renderings of project plans and ask questions of the project team.

MSD French Broad River Pump Station Project continues with blasting for river crossing beginning Sept. 17

As part of the Metropolitan Sewerage District (MSD) French Broad River Pump Station Project, blasting for the Phase 1 French Broad River Park river crossing is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept. 17 and continue through the week, with possible activity into the following week. Traffic in and around the blasting area will be stopped during each blast.
