AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS

We offer afterschool for youth and teens in locations conveniently located across the City.  Programming includes age-appropriate activities, including homework help, organized games, free play, crafts, and more.  Our teen programs also include the chance to participate in community service projects to build responsibility and maturity.  Costs are reasonable and discounts are available for families participating in the school systems free/reduced meal program.  Register now for the afterschool program nearest you!

2019 ASHEVILLE-BUNCOMBE SENIOR GAMES & SILVER ARTS

Registration Open through April 2

Join us for the 2019 Asheville-Buncombe Senior Games and Silver Arts Competition.  Athletes and artists ages 50 and up are eligible to compete in a variety of contests located throughout the area.  For a complete list of athletic competitions, download the schedule here.  If you're an adult artist, you can compete in a juried artist exhibition or an art performance event.  Top finishers in each event are eligible to compete at the State level later this year.  Early registration is only $5 through March 11 and $10 from March 12 through April 2.  The games begin with Opening Ceremonies on April 2 and end on May 3 with Closing Ceremonies, Silver Arts competition, and an announcement of the top finishers.  Register at www.ashevillenc.gov/parksregistration or contact Max Cherry for more information at 828-259-5555 or mcherry@ashevillenc.gov


SPRING TODDLER PROGRAMS

It's time for a brand new season of toddler programs!  We offer adult/toddler programs with age appropriate activities for toddlers 2 to 5, so be ready to join in the fun six days a week!  Register at www.ashevillenc.gov/parksregistration

STORYBOOK CHEFS
March 4 – April 8, Mondays from 10 till 11:30am
Whip up a treat from a book we'll read (and don't worry about the mess)!  Book and all supplies provided. 
$25/session or $5/class.

FUNDAMENTAL - LI'L WARRIOR EDITION
March 5 – April 9, Tuesdays from 10 till 11:30am
Run, jump, throw with a twist!  Play a variety of games while learning FUNdamental locomotor skills.
$25/session or $5/class

TINY TYKES
March 6 – May 1, Wednesdays from 10am till 12noon
For ages 5 and under with an adult.  Organized crafts, games, and active play!
$25/session or $3 per class

PREHISTORIC PALS
March 7 – April 10, Thursdays from 10 till 11:30am
Adventure into the past as we explore a new dinosaur each week.  Build a volcano, dig for fossils and go on a dinosaur hunt.
$25/session or $5/class

TINY TYKES
March 8 – May 3, Fridays from 10am till 12noon
For ages 5 and under with an adult.  Organized crafts, games, and active play!
$25/session or $3 per class

LITTLE MONKEYS
March 2 – March 23, Saturdays from 9:30 till 10:15am
For ages 3 to 5 with an adult.  A special Little Monkey class for those who can't play during the week.  A mix of fun activities for your little climber while building motor skills & balance.  Pre-registration is required for this one and no drop-ins.
$20/4-week session
NOTE:  This class is held at Tempie Avery Montford Center.

All toddler programs, except for Little Monkeys, are held at the Stephens-Lee Community Center. Little Monkeys is held at the Tempie Avery Montford Center.

TRUCK CITY AVL
Saturday, April 13 from 1 to 4pm

Get in the driver's seat with a free hands-on experience with vehicles of all kinds! Vehicles from emergency, construction, transportation, and more all in one place! Children can touch, climb on, climb in and ask questions about their favorite trucks and cars in a safe and supervised environment. Adult supervision is required. This is a rain or shine event so be prepared for all weather!

ASTON PARK TENNIS CENTER
Opening Day is April 1st

Are you ready for tennis season?  Get your racquet out of the closet and come on over to Aston Park Tennis Center.  The season kicks off on April 1st at 9am.  Purchase a season pass or pay by the hour.  Hours are 9am to 9pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday.  For more information about the Tennis Center, click here.
