City of Asheville holds public engagement to consider changes to Merrimon Ave

The City of Asheville is reviewing a proposal to reconfigure Merrimon Avenue as part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s upcoming resurfacing project. The consideration under review is whether to implement a four-lane to three-lane conversion between I-240 and Midland Road (at Beaver Lake), in order to improve safety for all users and to support equitable mobility.

Ashevillians looking for motivation to get moving during colder months can join friends, neighbors, and other community members as the city runs, walks, and rolls during the free Fit 50 Challenge. Back for its second year, Asheville Parks & Recreation’s challenge allows participants to track their progress as they complete 50 miles between February 1-April 1.

City of Asheville Capital Projects Department wants your thoughts about the upcoming sidewalk improvements

The City of Asheville is looking to engage residents on the sidewalk improvement projects along Johnston Boulevard  between Patton Avenue and Iona Circle ( in the vicinity of Roger Farmer Memorial Park), on the south side of Johnston Boulevard.  The comments collected will help staff understand nearby residents' needs and concerns. City and County kick off next steps for the future of Pack Square Plaza

The City of Asheville and Buncombe County are partnering to document the community’s vision for the future of Pack Square Plaza, including the site where the Vance Monument was previously located, and we need a talented Project Manager to help make that happen.
