City of Asheville will hold an open house and virtual public engagement to consider changes for Merrimon Avenue

The City of Asheville is reviewing a proposal to reconfigure Merrimon Avenue as part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s upcoming resurfacing project. The consideration under review is whether to implement a four-lane to three-lane conversion between I-240 and Midland Road (at Beaver Lake).

The City and the North Carolina Department of Transportation are proposing to hold an in-person open house and virtual public engagement on February 28th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at North Asheville Community Center, 37 E. Larchmont Rd, Asheville, NC 28804. At this open house the public will have the opportunity to review the proposal in more detail, provide feedback, and discuss the topic with staff from both agencies.

We encourage the public to review the Merrimon Avenue Considerations website for more information. Please pass this along to anyone who may be interested.
