Asheville Parks & Recreation community center schedule changes for staff training

Some Asheville Parks & Recreation community centers plan to close or operate on abbreviated schedules the week of June 5, 2023. These planned changes allow for the training of team members supervising sold-out summer camps.

 

Closed June 5-9

• Burton Street Community Center

• Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center

• Murphy-Oakley Community Center

• Stephens-Lee Community Center

• Tempie Avery Montford Community Center

 

Closed Except for Specific Programs

• Linwood Crump Shiloh Community Center

  • Monday, June 5: 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (mobile medical/dental and fitness center only)

  • Tuesday, June 6: 6-8 p.m. (Card Sharks and fitness center only)

  • Wednesday, June 7: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (Zumba Gold and Senior Dining and Wellness only)

  • Thursday, June 8: 12-1 p.m. (Senior Dining and Wellness only)

  • Friday, June 9: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (Zumba Gold and Senior Dining and Wellness only)

 

Abbreviated Schedule

• Grove Street Community Center

  • Monday, June 5: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Tuesday, June 6: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Wednesday, June 7-Friday, June 9: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (no change)

 

No Change

• Harvest House Community Center, Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
