Asheville Asks: Why did I receive a notification that my water service will be cut off?
While most customers have since resumed regular payments for utility services; some have not paid their bills since before Hurricane Helene, which occurred a year ago. Beginning in early November, customers who have outstanding balances will be notified of water service cuts.

Temporary water pre-treatment systems to remain operational through November
The City of Asheville is sharing an update on the temporary water pre-treatment systems installed at the North Fork and DeBruhl water treatment plants after Hurricane Helene. These systems will remain in place and operational through at least November 30, 2025, thanks to continued funding support from FEMA.
