Public Safety Committee - The City of Asheville

The Public Safety Committee will review policy updates and make policy recommendations that ensure:

Advise on public safety policy direction in areas of police, fire, and emergency management services.
Review matters relating to intergovernmental relations related to public safety issues, including cooperation with other law enforcement, fire, and emergency management agencies.
Provide guidance on disaster preparedness and recovery to foster a safe environment that allows residents, visitors, and businesses to thrive.
Support the development of and updates to the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).

Meeting schedule: Last Thursday of every other month at 11:00 a.m., beginning in May. Meetings are virtual.
