Housing and Community Development Committee

The Housing and Community Development Committee will review policy updates and make policy recommendations that ensure:

Review housing related policy updates and make recommendations relating to the creation and maintenance of housing within the City, including public housing and affordable private housing developments.
Review policy matters relating to the provision of services to unhoused individuals within the City and solving homelessness through the Asheville-Buncombe Continuum of Care.
Oversee the City’s investments in Department of Housing and Urban Development programs to implement a wide range of community development activities, including developing vibrant neighborhoods, improving and expanding affordable housing, and combating homelessness, and funding of other eligible activities to support community development.
Advance housing stability efforts, support temporary and permanent housing solutions for displaced residents, and help residents navigate post-disaster housing challenges by connecting them to resources and funding.

The Housing and Community Development Committee meets virtually at 10:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.
