Due to sewer line construction on Old Haw Creek Rd, a detour will be in place for both outbound and inbound Route 170 trips from 7/10/2025 through 7/23/2025. The following stops will be missed: 992 – Old Haw Creek Rd at Bethesda Rd 993 – Bethesda Rd at Old Haw Creek Rd 520 – New Haw Creek Rd at Bethesda Rd 523 – Old Haw Creek Rd at Pressley Rd 524 – Old Haw Creek Rd at Greenbriar Rd During this closure, riders traveling towards Black Mountain should board using stop 160, Old Haw Creek Rd at Dillingham Rd, or stop 997, Beverly Rd at Avon Rd. The City of Asheville is excited to announce that Asheville Rides Transit (ART) will begin ramping back up to full service starting July 1, 2025. Routes previously cancelled will resume, but select trip cancellations on these routes may occur due to changes in daily staffing levels. Any changes to the service will be communicated via iRide email notifications and on the City’s Transit Service Alerts page. We understand how important reliable transit is to our community and apologize for any inconveinance this situation may have caused. The City is actively working with our transit service provider, RATPDEV, to accelerate the hiring and training of qualified drivers and fully restore service as quickly as possible. What’s changing as of July 1:

To avoid coming to the transit station for customer service-related activities when staff is unavailable, please plan your trip outside the hours listed above and within the regularly scheduled hours of operation. Customer service being unavailable means that riders are unable to purchase tickets, submit and process discounted pass applications, reach the help number at 828.253.5691, and receive information on routes and schedules, among other services. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to return to regular hours as soon as possible.
