City Offices will be closed to Nov. 11 to observe Veterans Day
The Wall Street Parking Garage officially reopens all levels by Saturday, October 11, thanks to the successful completion of vital structural repairs. The completion of the repairs fulfills the City’s commitment to have all four parking garages fully open for peak leaf season.
The City of Asheville invites the community to participate in a community-wide survey to inform the ART Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA)—a strategic assessment that seeks to improve Asheville’s public transit services and align them with current and future community needs and available resources.
The N.C. Department of Transportation is resuming intercity bus service in downtown Asheville nearly a year after it was suspended due to Hurricane Helene. The service will be operated by Greyhound under contract with NCDOT’s Integrated Mobility Division. Beginning Aug. 1, Greyhound will pick up and drop off passengers on Ashland Avenue outside of the downtown Asheville Rides Transit (ART) Transit Station. The new arrangement is the result of months of coordination with the NCDOT’s Integrated Mobility Division and Asheville.

More Helene recovery: All transit routes will be active again starting July 1. Some schedule changes may be necessary due to staffing, so pease make use of iRide emails notifications to get updates.
Our offices will be closed Thursday, June 19, but regular hours resume the next day. Water plant production staff and Emergency Services personnell operate on a normal schedule on any oberserved holiday.
The City of Asheville’s Asheville Rides Transit (ART) service will be temporarily adjusting operations on the following routes beginning May 27, 2025, due to ongoing staffing shortages: WE1 Eastbound, N2, N1, N3, W6.
The City of Asheville offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day, May 26, a federally designated holiday that honors military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
