Water Resources is excited to announce the launch of WaterSmart, a free and user-friendly online service for our customers to help manage your water consumption and your utility bill.
What is WaterSmart?
WaterSmart is a user-friendly resource that will allow customers to monitor water usage, manage and pay their bill and be notified when usage surges, indicating an issue such as a leak.
Is there a cost to use WaterSmart?
No! The program is a free service Water Resources is excited to offer our customers as part of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure project.
When will it be available?
The program should go live online on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
Where do I register?
Visit ashevillenc.watersmart.com to register. Please note: If you already have an online account with Water Resources, you must register using the email address already on file.
Can I manage multiple accounts?
Customers who manage multiple properties or meters can link their accounts by registering the accounts using the same email address and password. Alternatively, a customer can log into WaterSmart with a single registered account, click on your address in the top right, click on “Add Account” and enter the account number and customer number of the account to be linked.
Can I add someone else to my WaterSmart account?
The primary account holder can add additional users to their WaterSmart account. Click on the drop-down menu under “Settings,” click on “Account Settings,” then scroll down to “Additional Users.” Select the user’s role, then enter the user’s name and email.
Is my water usage data in real-time?
The data you see is in near-real-time. Data is transmitted from the meter four times per day and usually takes a few hours to process and show on your account.
