Funds Allocated through Capital Improvement Program Last updated or reviewed on October 7, 2025 $42 million of the fiscal year 2025 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget was used toward projects considered to be sustainability or climate-related. That accounts for 57% of the total $74 million dollar CIP budget. Some of the increased spending is due to Helene recovery projects that support enhanced resilience to future extreme weather. Desired Trend: Increase in funds allocated and percentage of total funds for sustainability and climate related projects. Methodology: Analysis of descriptions of Fiscal Year CIP projects to determine yes/no relevance to specific criteria including energy efficiency, fleet electrification, green infrastructure, renewable energy, resilience development, infrastructure hardening, and habitat development. Summed allocated project funds determined to be relevant in the fiscal year. Current data available is limited to Capital Improvement Program budget.
