City of Asheville hosts career fair on September 26

UPDATE 9/25 at 3:30 p.m. – Event canceled due to upcoming extreme weather conditions

Due to the expected extreme weather conditions the Block Party – Career Fair at Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville scheduled for tomorrow, September 26 is canceled. We appreciate the public’s interest in learning more about career opportunities in the City. 

For updates regarding Tropical Storm Helene please monitor the Asheville Fire Department and the City of Asheville’s social media platforms or visit the City of Asheville’s website.

Interested community members are encouraged to explore career opportunities and open positions can be found on the City’s Website.


UPDATE 9/24 at 2:30 p.m. – Location of Career Fair Block Party changed

Due to the forecast of significant rain during the scheduled time for the event, the location of the Career Fair Block Party hosted by the City of Asheville has been changed.

The Career Fair will now take place at Harrah’s Cherokee Center on Thursday, September 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


The City of Asheville will host a Block Party Career Fair highlighting the many exciting opportunities for people looking to work and contribute to the community. 

Thursday, September 26, 2024 

11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Come learn about the benefits of a local government career and opportunities currently available with the City of Asheville!
