Project Overview
In 2021 the City of Asheville received $26.2 million in federal grant funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) State and Local Government Fiscal Recovery Funds to respond to and contain the economic and public health impacts of COVID-19 on our communities, residents, and businesses, and to lay a foundation for a strong and equitable recovery.
The City invested these funds in a combination of internal and local nonprofit-led programs across nine areas: homelessness services, affordable housing, domestic violence prevention and assistance, small business recovery, city infrastructure, community communication, care for aging residents, food systems, and administrative support.
