Due to ongoing staffing shortages, ART service will be temporarily adjusting operations on the following routes starting Tuesday, May 27, 2025, until further notice. We made these changes with the goal of continuing to provide service to all routes by lowering the frequency of service.

Impacted routes:
WE1 eastbound will be reduced from once every 30 minutes to once an hour at each stop. Updated WE1 schedule is available here.

N2 will be cancelled, however, N1 will begin to service the stops along Beaverdam Road between Ingles and Revol Church every 2 hours. N1 may experience slight delays due to this change. Updated Route N1 schedule is available here.

W6 and N3 will be reduced from once every 30 minutes to once an hour at each stop. Updated Route W6 schedule is available here.

8/27/24 Until 5/20/2025 W5, WE1 & WE2 300, 302, 316, 317, 318

Due to the ongoing Patton Ave stormwater project, detours will be in place for routes W5, WE1, and WE2 until construction is complete. Detours are expected to last 24 hours a day until 5/14/2025, when detours will only be in place from 7 PM to 7 AM. The following stops will be missed while detour is in place:

Inbound:

  • 302 Patton Ave at Clingman Ave
  • 300 Patton Ave at Otis St

Outbound:

  • 318 Patton Ave at Otis St
  • 317 Patton Ave at S French Broad
  • 316 Patton Ave at Clingman Ave

While the detour is in place, please board at the Transit Center located on 49 Coxe Ave.

5/4/2025 N1, N2, S6, S3, WE1 All

Route WE1: This route will return to its regular pre-Helene route and schedule by serving select stops on Swannanoa River Rd. This route will also start serving stop 417, Bleachery Blvd at Walmart, in both directions due to the temporary closure of other nearby stops on Swannanoa River Rd. The following stops will continue to be closed:

3/31/2025 Until Further Notice 170 992, 993 & 520

Due to sidewalk construction on New Haw Creek Rd, route 170 will detour and miss the following stops while construction is taking place:

  • 992 Old Haw Creek Rd at Bethesda Rd (Use 523 instead)
  • 993 Bethesda Rd at Old Haw Creek Rd (Use 523 instead)
  • 520 New Haw Creek Rd at Bethesda Rd (Use stop 519 instead)
 3/4/2025 Until Further Notice N2 255, 257, 258 & 259

Due to an inaccessible roadway, Route N2 is unable to serve 4 stops on Beaverdam beginning at Faircrest Rd. The following stops at the end of the line are temporarily closed until further notice:

  • 259 Beaverdam Rd at Faircrest Rd
  • 255 Beaverdam Rd at Wolfe Cove Rd
  • 258 Beaverdam Rd at Valley Rd
  • 257 Valley Rd at Bear Mountain

Due to the ongoing City of Asheville’s Stormwater Improvement Project, expect delays for Routes W5, WE1 & WE2 weekdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM until further notice.

Due to staff shortages, customer service hours of operation at the Transit Station at 49 Coxe Ave. may differ from regular hours. Until further notice, expect the following changes:

  • On Tuesdays after 5:00 PM, customer service may be unavailable. 
  • On Saturdays after 5:00 PM, customer service may be unavailable.
  • On Sundays & Holidays, customer service may be unavailable. 

To avoid coming to the transit station for customer service-related activities when staff is unavailable, please plan your trip outside the hours listed above and within the regularly scheduled hours of operation. Customer service being unavailable means that riders are unable to purchase tickets, submit and process discounted pass applications, reach the help number at 828.253.5691, and receive information on routes and schedules, among other services.
