With the potential of wintery weather coming our way, City of Asheville teams stand ready to serve.

Snow crews from the Public Works Department will be on call –  24 hours a day –  starting this Friday and going through Sunday at 7am.

The National Weather Service forecast  currently calls for potential icy conditions and high winds. Additional City of Asheville staff is assigned to deal with the potential impact of these conditions, like trees downed by high winds.

“City of Asheville equipment is prepared and fully supplied with materials. Our crews stand-by to see the City through any potential weather impact forecast for the weekend.” says Public Works Director Greg Shuler.

All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, continue to serve — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
