Sustainability Advisory Committee invites community to Holiday Free Store

Donate or “Shop” to reduce our community’s waste and build neighborhood connections!

Did you know the City of Asheville has a goal to reduce landfill waste by 50% by 2035? Please join us in being part of the solution!

This holiday season the City’s Sustainability Advisory Committee is supporting our community in finding alternatives for holiday gift sourcing.  The Holiday Free Store is a  fun “shopping” event that is good for your wallet and for the planet. The Holiday Free Store is like a yard sale, but FREE!

Community members are invited to donate and/or browse upcycled items. Clean out your home without contributing to more landfilled waste and source unique gifts from and for your community.

Accepted donations include gently used toys, clothing, tools and small appliances to reduce holiday waste. Get to know your neighbors at this fun community event and help contribute to our community waste reduction goals and neighbor to neighbor focused sharing economy!
