Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) has 30 days of programs and events to help the community explore, connect, discover in April. Trucks, Tunes, and Special Events

  • Help fine tune Recreate Asheville: Shaping Our City’s Parks, the city’s comprehensive parks and recreation plan, during a community workshop on April 6
  • Get an up-close look at the equipment and skills required to maintain our city and public safety systems at Truck City AVL on April 13
  • Channel your younger self with parachute games, dodgeball, and other recess favorites at Blast From the Past Adult Game Time on April 14
  • Visit with other four-legged friends and their human companions at the Dog Pawty on April 20
  • Dress in your white party best for music and dancing at the All White Affair for adults 40+ on April 27
  • Dress little ones in their favorite superhero costumes to save the day at Toddler Superhero Bash on April 27

 

Park Pop Ups

  • While older kids are at APR Spring Break Camp, the Rec n Roll mobile play team rolls into Jake Rusher Park on April 1, Carrier Park on April 2, and Weaver Park on April 4 with activities for younger folks
  • Share your creativity with other adults 40+ as you draw inspiration from nature with Art in Carrier Park on April 11 and Art in Montford Park on April 12
  • Shop for treasures or sell your own at Stop and Shop popup market on April 20 and find keepsakes from local artisans at Burton Street Craft Market on April 27
