Recognizing neighborhood contributions: Neighborhood Advisory Committee launches monthly volunteer recognition program

Posted on April 11, 2024 by Kim Miller

The City of Asheville’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee is excited to announce the initiation of a monthly Volunteer Spotlight program, aiming to honor the exceptional individuals who make significant contributions to their local community.

Nominations for outstanding neighborhood volunteers will be accepted on a rolling basis. Each month, one volunteer will be selected for recognition in the Neighborhood Newsletter and various media outlets. If an individual is not recognized in the month of their initial nomination, their nomination will be carried forward for consideration in subsequent months.

At the end of each year, up to three outstanding volunteers will be chosen as Volunteers of the Year. These honorees will be celebrated at a City Council meeting and through various media platforms.
