Asheville City Council has approved a $256.36 million budget for the fiscal year 2026 (July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026). This budget, reflecting long-term strategies and priorities, was developed based on council priorities, community feedback, and staff contributions. The approval vote occurred during the Council's meeting on June 10.

City Council approves contract for the next phase of the Parking Garage Capital Improvements project.
The City of Asheville water Resources Department breaks ground on phase 2 of a project at the Mills River Water Treatment Plant that will bring techincal updates and greater storage capacity to the plant, and increase resiliency for our overall water system.
The City of Asheville’s Asheville Rides Transit (ART) service will be temporarily adjusting operations on the following routes beginning May 27, 2025, due to ongoing staffing shortages: WE1 Eastbound, N2, N1, N3, W6.
