Go outside! Asheville Parks & Recreation offers family-friendly fall activities

children playing on basketball court in fall

Fall has arrived in the mountains and now is the most beautiful time to head outside with your family and enjoy all that our amazing parks have to offer.

Check out mountain bike trails, hiking trails and disc golf at recently updated Richmond Hill Park (300 Richmond Hill Drive). The views are amazing! If a neighborhood park is more to your liking, visit Jake Rusher Park (160 Sycamore Drive, Arden) which was also recently upgraded with new parking, accessible sidewalks, basketball courts, a pavilion and restroom building as well as new landscaping and improved lighting. Improvements to both of these parks were completed with bond funding approved by voters in Asheville in 2016.

In addition to all of our parks, check out these fall activities at a community center near you!
