Map Asheville gets an upgrade

Map Asheville is the City’s GIS Map Viewer with layers and tools to help staff and the public visualize spatial information.  The City of Asheville’s GIS team first developed Map Asheville in 2006 and on October 6 we will be launching its third rendition.

Muni Disc Golf temporarily closes to allow for partner utility repair

Asheville Muni Disc Golf Course will be temporarily closed from September 22 through October 3rd to allow for the replacement of a natural gas line running through the course area that was damaged during Tropical Storm Helene.  The Muni Golf course will remain open at this time.

As the first full month of fall, October offers opportunities for crisp mornings, cool evenings, and connecting with neighbors and the world around us before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. While the surrounding mountains treat us to a spectacular show of bright yellow, orange, and purple hues, Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) has activities, special events, and classes to help community members grow and discover.

The City of Asheville invites the community to a Helene Milestone Breakfast honoring the partnerships and collaboration that have grown out of the Helene emergency and recovery response with special remarks from Mayor Esther Manheimer.

MSD French Broad River Pump Station Project continues with blasting for river crossing beginning Sept. 17

As part of the Metropolitan Sewerage District (MSD) French Broad River Pump Station Project, blasting for the Phase 1 French Broad River Park river crossing is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept. 17 and continue through the week, with possible activity into the following week. Traffic in and around the blasting area will be stopped during each blast.
