’Coffee with the Chief’ set for Saturday

Posted on August 11, 2015March 13, 2019 by Polly McDaniel

The Asheville Police Department will host “Coffee with the Chief” from 8 to 10 a.m. August 22 at JK’s Kitchen, 6 Long Shoals Road.

Chief Tammy Hooper, along with several other representatives from the department, will be present to answer questions and listen to community concerns. The goal of this event is to open the door for interactions outside of the crisis situations that typically bring law enforcement officers and community members together.

“Coffee with the Chief” is part of the national “Coffee with a Cop” program which was launched in Hawthorne, California in 2011. Since its inception events have been hosted in more than 2,000 communities in 48 different states. This is the fourth event that the Asheville Police Department has held.
