The City of Asheville Budget Division is pleased to announce that the City of Asheville has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the current budget from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.
In order to receive the budget award, the City had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. The Budget Division is honored to have received this award from the GFOA!
