City launches new Open City Hall topic: River-To-Ridge Connector and Beaucatcher Greenway

Posted on March 22, 2016October 7, 2019 by Polly McDaniel

If you have thoughts about the Beaucatcher section of the River-to-Ridge greenway network, we invite you to continue the ongoing community conversation on Open City Hall Asheville.

The Beaucatcher project is a 1.25-mile-long greenway that runs from McCormick Field parking lot to Helen’s Bridge along the side of Beaucatcher Mountain. In its eighth year of planning, this greenway design is nearly finished.

Besides other public engagement, the City held an information session attended by more than 170 people from 5:30-7:30 pm March 16 at Lord Auditorium, lower level of Pack Memorial Library.

On the Open City Hall Beaucatcher Greenway topic page, participants can read background information, view a map and timeline, and make comments about the project.

The Open City Hall feedback and comments received at the March 16 public meeting will be compiled and shared with City Council at their April 12 meeting.

For more information about City greenways projects, visit the City of Asheville’s greenways webpage.

Recently launched, Open City Hall Asheville is an online platform designed to engage citizens in conversations about important Asheville projects and issues.
