Strive Not to Drive Week kicks off in Western North Carolina with free rides on all Asheville Rides Transit (ART) buses on Monday, May 19, 2025. It’s the perfect time to explore sustainable transportation options, reduce your carbon footprint, and see how easy it is to ride ART. On other days during Strive Week, bus fares return to just $1 per ride.

Learn how employers can offer free rides all year long with the ART Passport Program
As part of Strive Week, employers across Buncombe County are invited to attend a special ART Passport Program webinar on Wednesday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The ART Passport Program allows any employer in Buncombe County—public or private—to contract with the City of Asheville to provide fare-free rides to employees at a deeply discounted rate of just 52 cents per trip.
This virtual session is your opportunity to ask questions, learn how to enroll, and offer your team a reliable, cost-effective way to commute.
