The purpose of the Patton Avenue Corridor Study is to develop transportation, land use, and urban design recommendations for Patton Avenue from the Jeff Bowen Bridge to the easternmost terminus at Pack Square.

The City of Asheville is pleased to announce significant updates to its outdoor dining program as permitted in public spaces (streets and sidewalks) after City Council approval at their regularly scheduled meeting on October 24, 2023.
After a 60-day safety and cleanliness initiative in the spring of 2023, City departments continued focused efforts to support a safe and welcoming downtown and are collaborating on new ways to deliver and track services with maximum impact. Starting Sunday, September 17, at 7:00 p.m. contract work will begin that spans across Patton Ave. from the south to the north side. To ensure crew and community safety, there will be a full road closure from N. French Broad Ave. down to N. Ann Street. This will take place at night only (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) to minimize traffic disruption and impact on area businesses and the community. To further minimize impact, the area will be open to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the duration of this phase.
