December 3, 2024  8 a.m. –

Icy road conditions and cold weather this morning have resulted in some impacts to City Services.  City of Asheville street teams have been out through the early morning hours gritting streets. They witnessed several accidents caused by black ice and remind community members,  especially those in high elevations, to please drive with caution.

Community members are encouraged to follow the City of Asheville social media and website for ongoing updates on impacts

ART / Transit

Due to icy road conditions, ART is currently suspending service. Teams will continue to assess road conditions with the aim of resuming service today as soon as road conditions are safe.

Sanitation

All services are currently delayed until road conditions improve.
