Community members play an important role in caring for and enhancing Asheville’s public spaces. The City supports opportunities for residents, businesses, organizations, and community groups to contribute to the cleanliness, beauty, ecological health, and overall vitality of public spaces through programs focused on gardening, habitat, litter reduction, and other stewardship activities.

Community Gardens & Edible Parks on City Property

In partnership with Bountiful Cities, the City of Asheville supports residents in establishing Community Gardens on approved city-owned property sites. Residents are also invited to support stewardship of the City’s three food forests through community workday participation.
