The City’s Community Development Division manages and administers an annual federal allocation to Asheville and the region of approximately $3,000,000 in CDBG and HOME funds. CDBG funds must be spent within the City of Asheville and can be used for a wide range of activities that benefit low-income residents, including housing rehabilitation, economic development, social services, and neighborhood improvements.  HOME funds can be spent anywhere in Buncombe, Madison, Henderson and Transylvania Counties and must be used for affordable housing programs. Non-profit and for-profit housing developers may apply for HOME funds. Application forms for funding for specific programs will be available at the meetings.

Representatives from the city’s Community Development staff will lead the workshop and be available to answer questions and take community comments. The training session is free and open to new and old applicants.
