Splasheville off, some metered parking affected by Goombay Festival this weekend

The Goombay Festival will be held on the Roger McGuire Green at Pack Square Park this weekend. The festival opens to the public at 5 p.m. Friday and runs through 6 p.m. Sunday.

And there will be some parking impacts.

The metered parking spaces directly behind the stage on the west side of Court Plaza, and all metered spaces on the south side of College Street between Spruce Street and Court Plaza will be closed beginning at noon Friday. The spaces along the east side of the Court Plaza will be closed beginning at  5 p.m., at which time Court Plaza will be closed by the festival for back of house festival operations through Sunday.

Signs are scheduled go up on all impacted spaces by 4 p.m. today.

Also, parents should note that the popular Splasheville play fountain for children will be off during the festival.
