With summer over it’s time for a little fall cleaning! The WNC Nature Center has partnered with AmeriCorps to celebrate Take A Child Outside Week, which runs from September 24 through September 30.
In honor of this program, we’re hosting a service event from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 24 (Saturday). Kids in grades K-8 are invited to come and enjoy the outdoors while helping to clean up their local Nature Center. Activities will include the removal of exotic invasives and litter pick up. Work gloves and snacks will be provided.
Admission to the park will be waived for the participating child and one accompanying adult. Pre-registration is required. To register, please contact Tori Duval at americorps@ashevillenc.gov or call 828-458-2603.
