City of Asheville leaders, City staff, and partners join the Asheville Tourists organization in breaking ground on a new chapter for the team and baseball in Asheville.

Fans turn out in support
a new chapter for McCormick Field

As indicated in the Tourist organization’s official press release, Mayor Manheimer, council members, and City Manager Campbell participated in today’s ceremony to officially kick off the McCormick Field Centennial Restoration and Capital Improvement project.

The renovations, spearheaded by the Tourists and supported by the City, County, and Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority (BCTDA), aim not only to bring the facility in line with Major League Baseball (MLB) standards, but create the opportunity for additional community programming at the facility.

Community members are encouraged to sign up for updates on McCormick Field Centennial Restoration and Capital Improvements Project.
