The City of Asheville announces an upcoming workshop for its Neighborhood Matching Grants program, designed to empower and support community-led initiatives. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the My Daddy Taught Me That facility, located at 3 Hunt Hill Place in Asheville. Registration information is available at https://publicinput.com/L8177.

This program offers the opportunity for registered neighborhood organizations within Asheville city limits to receive matching grants of up to $5,000. These grants are intended to foster projects that enhance neighborhood quality of life, promote community engagement, and address local needs.

Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the program rules and application process, ensuring their proposals meet all necessary criteria. The session will also feature inspiring examples from past successful projects, offering valuable insights and practical ideas for potential applicants. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to pitch their project proposals directly to City staff. They will receive immediate feedback and guidance, which will help strengthen their applications.

“The Neighborhood Matching Grants program is a cornerstone of our commitment to fostering strong, vibrant communities,” said Dawa Hitch, Director of Communication and Public Engagement. “We understand that the most impactful changes often originate at the neighborhood level, and this program provides the resources and support to turn those grassroot ideas into reality. We encourage all eligible neighborhood organizations to attend this workshop, learn about the possibilities, and bring their innovative projects forward.”

For those interested in learning more or applying for the Neighborhood Matching Grants, the 2025 program policy and application are available online. The City of Asheville is dedicated to empowering its neighborhoods and looks forward to supporting a new round of impactful community projects.
