  • A shuttle will be available between, 4:30-5:30, @ 24 Cumberland Ave.
  • Salvation Army for women and children only (6-7 p.m. Law enforcement or paramedic escort allowed after hours) 253-4723
  • Trinity UMC (587 Haywood Rd. Asheville NC 28806) is available for vulnerable people who are unable to access other options. Entry for overnights is 5-7. Law enforcement or paramedics after hours. Please call before coming and check if individual is on the sex offender registry. 490-0444

Code Purple is extended through Sunday and Monday, January 30th and 31st. 

  • Bus fare is not required through the month of January

Code Purple is extended through Friday and Saturday, January 28th and 29th. This is likely to continue into early next week.

To avoid confusion at the shelter door, please check the client’s sex offender status and call the shelter to make sure an individual is not banned from their facility and that overflow space remains available.

Correction: Trinity is operating overnight for families, couples and other vulnerable people who are unable to access other options. Not a warming center.


UPDATE – 1/6/2022 (5 p.m.)

Code Purple remains in effect through January 9.

City of Asheville Code Purple is extended today through January 7, 2022.  

Code Purple is called in advance by the Asheville-Buncombe Homeless Coalition chair based on the forecast, and notification is sent out via the Homeless Coalition distribution list.  Additional detail is available in the updated manual published by the Asheville-Buncombe Homeless Coalition, attached here.
