City of Asheville and Buncombe County Community Reparations Commission meets, Feb. 20, 2023

The next scheduled meeting for the Community Reparations Commission is Monday, February 20, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held at Harrah’s Cherokee Center Banquet Hall at 87 Haywood Street.

You can plan ahead by referring to the 2023 monthly meeting schedule. 


 

The Community Reparations Commission is empowered to make short, medium, and long-term recommendations that will make significant progress toward repairing the damage caused by public and private systemic racism. The task of the Reparations Commission is to issue a report in a timely manner for consideration by the City and other participating community groups for incorporation into their respective short-term and long-term priorities and plans.

The Community Reparations Commission will be streamed on the City’s Engagement Hub, the City’s YouTube page and on Buncombe County’s Facebook page.  Since the meeting is in person,  public comments will be taken at the meeting.  If you are unable to attend, you may comment via voicemail or email at:
