The Reparations Commission meeting scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2022 and Saturday, September 24, 2022 has been changed. Commission members will participate in a Reparations Retreat on Friday, September 23.  Saturday’s session will be rescheduled.

The agenda led meeting will allow Commission members to learn more about Reparations: the process, resources and the hopes and dreams of those participating in the project.  The agenda for Friday remains the same.

Meeting Information:

Friday, Sept 23

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Asheville Housing Authority Board Room

165 S French Broad Ave, Asheville, NC 28801

Friday’s schedule breaks Commission members into smaller groups to facilitate discussion to better get to know one another, as well as better understand what “reparations” means to individual commission members as they continue to move forward as a working body.

Saturday’s agenda and activities will be rescheduled. Topics for future discussion will be:

  • What are reparations
  • What does that look like in the community, and
  • answering the question, What does community engagement look like in the community?
