The Reparations Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2022 has been changed.  Commission members will now participate in a Reparations Retreat Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24, 2022.

The agenda led meeting will allow Commission members to learn more about Reparations: the process, resources and the hopes and dreams of those participating in the project.  Agenda will be posted by week’s end.

Meeting Information: In Person

Friday, Sept. 23

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Asheville Housing Authority Board Room

165 S French Broad Ave, Asheville, NC 28801

Saturday, Sept. 24

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Asheville Housing Authority Board Room

Friday’s schedule breaks Commission members into smaller groups to facilitate discussion to better get to know one another, as well as better understand what “reparations” means to individual commission members as they continue to move forward as a working body.

Saturday, Reparations commission members, as well as City and County staff, welcome members of the community to participate in discussions looking at “what reparations are, and what does that look like in the community and answering the question, “what does community engagement look like in the community”.
