City accepts donation for greenway feasibility study

On Feb. 23, the City of Asheville accepted funds from two nonprofits that have raised a combined $37,000 to be used to conduct a feasibility study for the first segment of the Swannanoa River Greenway Corridor, otherwise known as the East Asheville Greenway.

The Asheville Parks and Greenways Foundation raised $22,000 from 5K races. The Friends of Connect Buncombe raised $15,000 from Brewers for Greenways events.
