Asheville City Council votes to accept the Board of Directors slate proposed by the Asheville Downtown Improvement District (ADID) at their regularly scheduled meeting on April 8. The board will steer services and operations of ADID, the contracted operator of the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID).

The board appointments follow the guidelines outlined in City Council Resolution 24-119, passed on June 11, 2024, which details the board structure for the Downtown BID. An open call for interested board members was administered by ADID and promoted by the Asheville Downtown Association, Chamber of Commerce, and City of Asheville. The selected slate of directors meets the representation and make-up requirements specified in Resolution 24-119.

The establishment of this board is intended to support the timely rollout of services for the Downtown BID, anticipated this spring. This action has no fiscal impact on the City.

More information about the Downtown BID can be found on the Downtown Business Improvement District page. The Asheville Downtown Association website will soon host additional information about the ADID and the Downtown BID.
