City Council priorities identified for FY 2023

During the recent Council Retreat of March 17 and 18, 2022, Asheville City Council was able to establish their 6 strategic priorities for the next fiscal year. These priority areas will help guide City staff as they develop the FY23 budget.

The 6 priorities for FY 2023 are:

Improve/Expand Core Services

Houselessness Strategies

Equitable & Affordable Housing & Stability

Neighborhood Resilience

Reimagining Public Safety

Reparations

While these strategic priorities will help guide planning for the upcoming fiscal year, it is important to know that they do not replace previously City Council goals and focus areas. They are additional priorities for the Council, City staff, and the City’s annual operating and capital budget as Asheville looks forward to the upcoming fiscal year.
