Cedar Street in Oakley neighborhood to close for stormwater drainage system upgrade

Asheville’s Public Works Stormwater Division will close Cedar Street in the Oakley neighborhood for 5 weeks in June to perform an extensive stormwater drainage system upgrade. This work is being done to replace failing stormwater infrastructure and reduce street flooding in the area.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. June 1, and run through July 9, depending on the weather. 

 

Cedar Street will be closed from Homewood Drive to Fairview Road and the entire intersection of Fairview Ave. This will be a hard street closure with no through traffic. There will be a posted detour for this closure.
