Asheville Parks & Recreation announces 2017 Movies in the Park season

The 2016 Disney movie “Moana” will play Aug. 11.

 

The City of Asheville Parks & Recreation Department launches the 2017 season of Movies in the Park, a free monthly movie series in Pack Square Park beginning May 12.

 

This month’s feature presentation is the PG-rated classic time travel adventure “Back to the Future,” starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.  On May 12, bring a chair or a blanket and come out for crafts, a movie in the park, and an evening of fun, all for free.

 

Children’s craft activities begin at 6:30 p.m. and the movie begins at dusk on a giant screen on the Pack Square Park stage.

 

Movies in the Park continues monthly through September. Each month, children’s craft activities begin at 6:30 p.m., followed with the movie at dusk. All movies are rated G or PG.

June 9: Sing (animated musical comedy released in 2016)

July 14: Up (Disney movie)

August 11: Moana (Disney movie released in 2016)

September 15: Rogue One (Star Wars movie released in 2016)
