Give your input on potential expanded ART bus service

Posted on September 15, 2016January 26, 2022 by Polly McDaniel

The City of Asheville is considering updates to the ART bus system. During the budget process, Asheville City Council approved additional funding for Route S3 and for expanding evening service hours on some routes.

Staff are currently reviewing options and coordinating with community groups to identify optimal scenarios for expanded hours. In addition, City staff are also reviewing other minor changes to Routes S2 and 170 to improve the effectiveness of the transit system. Public feedback regarding proposed changes is encouraged. Once approved, final changes will take place in January 2017.

A public meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 26 at Pack Memorial Library, 67 Haywood St., in downtown Asheville. The public is encouraged to provide feedback at the public meeting and through an online survey available at Open City Hall Asheville. It is also available in Spanish at Open City Hall Asheville: Spanish translation.

The survey is available through Sept. 30.

We look forward to hearing your input and ideas!
