The Asheville Fire Department supports the national Pink Heals Tour as it makes its way into Asheville on Friday, August 7, starting at 10:30 a.m. AFD will meet the tour at the City line near Canton and will proudly lead the tour to the Asheville Outlets for a celebration event open to the public from noon to 6 p.m.
The route for AFD leading the tour will start at 10:30 a.m. at the weigh station off exit 37 on I-40 east bound, then onto I-26 and ending at the Asheville Outlets.
The Pink Heals Program started in 2007 to help raise funds for people battling cancer, with a focus on women. It has evolved from a single fire truck driven by a single firefighter to over 150 trucks in 3 countries driven by hundreds of volunteers on a mission to keep fund raising local to support the communities themselves. This marks the second year in which the Pink Heals Tour has traveled through Asheville. Everyone is encouraged to come support this tour by lining the streets as the tour makes its way to the Asheville Outlets and then join in the celebration event to experience the true meaning of this organization.
