Have you ever wanted to take an inside look at the Asheville Fire Department?
Look no further, the Asheville Fire Department is accepting applications for the 2026 Citizens Academy!
The Citizens Fire Academy teaches community members about the City of Asheville Fire Department’s philosophy, policies, and guiding principles, as well as its services. This Academy gives community members an inside look at the challenges firefighters face daily. Community members can also offer comments, ideas, and solutions.
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion.
Note: Each community member must complete and sign waivers to participate.
