At the City of Asheville, our goal is to reduce racial disparities within City government by eliminating racial disparities in hiring and promotions and improving retention rates of our employees of color. We want to create a culture of inclusion where our employees’ skills and talents and valued. NOTE: The source of Employee Demographic data is an employee self-reported system in our City of Asheville ERP software. Employees self-identify for Race and Ethnicity. The Race and Ethnicity terminology and language are determined by the U.S. Census Bureau. Employees self-identify for Gender. Our current system only allows for binary gender identification.
