City of Asheville offices will be closed for Memorial Day, ART buses to run on holiday schedule

Asheville City government offices will be closed Monday, May 30, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

All City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department recreation centers will be closed. The following specialized recreation facilities will be open: City parks, the Riverside Cemetery, Asheville Golf Course, Food Lion Skate Park, Aston Park Tennis Center, Recreation Park Pool and the Western North Carolina Nature Center. Splasheville, the popular water feature in Pack Square Park, is scheduled to be open as usual this weekend, including during the Beer City Festival from 1 to 6 p.m. May 28 on the Roger McGuire Green in the park. It will be closed during the Memorial Day ceremony from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 30. Regular operating hours for Splasheville are 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.

 

The City of Asheville ART service routes and facilities will operate on a reduced holiday schedule May 30 (see schedule below). The Memorial Day holiday is one of six holidays throughout the calendar year that ART offers bus service. For route info, visit RidetheART.com.

 

Water Resources staff will be available for water related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday weekend. Customers can call the customer service line at 828-251-1122 to report water related emergencies, leaks, breaks, and no water calls.

All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, will operate according to normal schedule – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
